Based in Spain, Gamesa Corporación Tecnológica (Gamesa) is a leader in the European alternative energy industry, specifically within the growing wind energy industry. Founded in 1976, Gamesa’s largest core business is its renewable energy division which makes wind turbines and operates wind farms.Gamesa has rapidly established itself in the wind energy business, becoming one of the more significant manufacturers of wind turbines in Europe as well as a major operator of wind farm facilities. Their aggressive expansion into the wind energy sector since 2000 has contributed to their rapid revenue and profit growth in recent years. Gamesa recently announced that they are establishing a new U.S. headquarters in Pennsylvania, where Gamesa will develop a number of new wind-farms in the state, and create approximately 1,000 jobs.
